ASTM B111 C12200 Copper Alloy Low Fin Tube For Oil And Gas Industry

Low fin tube is a kind of high effienciency heat exchanger tube which is rolled to form spiral fin on its outer surface.

The strengthening effect of this type of tube is outside the tube. One the one hand, the heat transfer area is increased by the screw fin; on the other hand, when the shell side medium flows through the surface of the threaded tube, the surface screw fin has a segmentation effect on the laminar flow side layer, which reduces the thickness of the boundary layer. Moreover, the turbulence form on the surface is stronger than that of the smooth tube, which further reduces the thickness of the the boundary layer.

The specification B111 covers seamless tube and ferrule stock of copper and various copper alloys up to 79 mm, inclusive, in diameter, for use in surface condensers, evaporators, and heat exchangers.

The mechanical properties of C12200 grade copper are nearly identical to high purity copper alloys such as C11000 grade. These copper tubes have good deep draw properties and are resistant to pitting in harsh weather and water environments.

It is extremely resistant to weathering and a wide range of contaminants. It is frequently used for corrosion resistance. It is suitable for most types of water and can be used underground due to its resistance to soil corrosion. It is resistant to non-oxidizing mineral and organic acids, as well as alkaline solutions and saline solutions.

C12200 has similar corrosion resistance to C11000. It has excellent weathering resistance and very good resistance to a wide range of chemicals. It resists non-oxidizing mineral and organic acids, corrosive solutions, and saline solutions.
